By Irene Luck
Jeffrey D. Seay is combining his vocal skills, artistic talents and technological know-how to provide a host of new services to the Louisa County area with JDS Productions.
An accomplished pianist, Seay will perform at weddings, funerals, beauty contests, church events, organizations and similar services. He is the organist at Beulah Baptist Church in Fluvanna County and has played the piano at Mineral Baptist Church for its Wednesday night and Sunday morning services for two years.

The second focus of his business is audio and video duplications and transfers. Seay can take records, cassettes and videos and transfer them to other media sources such as CDs or DVDs.
Taking old records and cassettes and preserving them on CDs, restoring them as required, is one facet of the business. Seay can also transfer videotapes to DVDs to preserve family memories and important occasions.
Along a similar line, Seay can turn photo albums into make slide shows on DVDs, adding background music or vocals as requested. He can also produce slide shows and presentations for individuals, organizations or businesses.
"I want to produce the best quality product with the equipment I have," Seay said. "Customer satisfaction is my number one purpose. Money is not everything, but my reputation is.
Voice-overs for commercials and using his vocal talents for events is the third area of JDS Productions. Seay is interested in serving as the master of ceremonies for public events as well as announcing for community functions. As a student at Piedmont Christian School, he announced basketball and volleyball games for the school for several years.
He would like to get into creating radio commercials for customers, non-profit events and public information spots.
"I have a keen interest in radio and telemedia broadcasting," he said. "I have taken courses from the Columbia School of Broadcasting and have worked in behind the scenes production."
With an interest in expanding and partnering with businesses, Seay would like to become the voice people hear on the radio pitching products and companies, a fresh voice for the established or a new sound for a new business.
"Whatever I'm doing, I want it to reflect my Christian values and morals and be something that I am proud of," he said. "I want people to know that I'm going to give them the best service I can and will work to make sure they are satisfied with the finished product."
Seay recently worked as a police dispatcher in Lynchburg, but the job requirements limited him to no outside work.
"I didn't like not being able to do several things at one time," Seay said. "I don't like being restricted to only one job."
Seay moved back to Louisa County and started working with his father, Jeff Seay, at Lake Ridge Plumbing. He also gathered the expertise of his family and friends in starting the venture.
Seay is focusing his attention on Central Virginia and the greater Charlottesville area. Much of the correspondence can be conducted through the mail or by email, Seay said.
Seay is starting small, but would like to expand his capabilities, as he is able to purchase more equipment and materials.
The son of Jeff Seay of Louisa and Diane Koss of Mineral, Seay wants to keep a local image and grow the business systematically fill the void in the area.
"The possibilities are endless for this type of enterprise," Seay said. "I'm starting small so I don't get overwhelmed and too big too fast. I want to ensure that customer service is my number one focus."
